What does an African band have to do with Bavarian folk dance?
Diversité is a band made up of six members that has developed, along with three dancers, an amazing show. "Nomvula" pays homage to Africa. A new kind of world music - a mixture of soul, African rumba, afro-beat, jazz, classical music, and inspired by the very spirit of Africa.
The dancers are Yahi Gahe Nestor, who performed as a choreographer and dancer in the show “Afrika! Afrika!” by André Heller, Hippolyte Bohouo, and Marie- Chance Anastasie Gonebli, both also known from the latter show.
The highlight of the show is the mixture of gumboot dance and Schuhplatteln, a traditional Bavarian dance. The similarity of these dances shows the idea of unity in diversity.
"In this world where war and conflicts are about to rule, culture is the only thing that can bring people together. Then, let us build cultural bridges between our peoples for a more united and happier world. Welcome to Diversité. Yahi Nestor Gahe
We are looking forward to working together with Diversité. Further info soon on our homepage.
